Dr. Usama Bebawy received his MD degree with honor from Ain Shams University in 1988, and then spent 3 years of residency training in Ophthalmology & ended by receiving his Masters degree in Ophthalmology.
He has worked as an assistant lecturer at the School of Medicine, Ain Shams University, & gave lectures and labs to students and ophthalmology residents.
Dr. Bebawy had further fellowship training in cataract and glaucoma management at Essen University in Germany, practiced as an ophthalmologist for 6 years managing & treating patients with cataract, glaucoma, uveitis, LASIK, retinal diseases & various other diseases of the eye.
He has spent 2 years in clinical fellowship at McMaster University doing comprehensive ophthalmology fellowship and joined Lasik provision as an optometrist in 2012.
Dr. Laurie Capogna graduated from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada, with her Doctor of Optometry degree in 1998. She is an active partner in Peninsula Eye Associates, where she provides full spectrum optometric care in a surgical eye care centre. She also runs a Low Vision Clinic where she helps patients with eye disease and vision loss to achieve their daily goals. Dr. Capogna practices comprehensive optometry where she focuses on all three aspects of eye care: prevention, treatment and vision rehabilitation. She is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists, the Canadian Association of Optometrists, the College of Optometrists of Ontario and the Optometric Nutrition Society
Dr. Anjali Kapoor received her Doctor of Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 2010. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Waterloo where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Sciences. Her training involved several externships including a placement at a Veteran’s Hospital in Connecticut, a Pediatrics speciality at the Eye Institute in Philadelphia, a contact lens training with the Miami Dolphins in Florida and a ocular disease rotation in St. Catharines.
She is an active member of the Ontario Association of Optometry, a member of the Eye See Eye Learn program in Hamilton and is also licensed and board certified to practice in several states in the US.
She has been co-managing LASIK patients, providing post-operative cataract care and following glaucoma patients with Dr. Taylor since 2011.
Dr. Marisa Marchionda graduated from the University of Waterloo with both Bachelor of Science and doctor of optometry degrees in 2004. Her experience is extensive, working alongside some of the most distinguished ophthalmologists and optometrists in both Ontario and Quebec. Working personally alongside an ophthalmologist for years, she is very confident in post-operative care for patients who have undergone any form of eye surgery. She is board certified by the Canadian Examiners in Optometry and the American National Board of Examiners in Optometry. She is a member in good standing, of the Ontario College of Optometrists, Ontario Association of Optometrists, and Canadian Association of Optometrists. She is also a Clinical Skills Assessor for the Canadian Standard Assessment of Optometrists, as part of the Canadian examiners in Optometry.
Dr. Pelletier graduated and received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Universite de Montreal in 1998. After practicing in the Ottawa, Ontario area, she moved to the Niagara Peninsula. Dr. Pelletier is an active partner at IRIS, Optometrists in Welland, Ontario with her husband, Dr. Christian Nanini where she practices comprehensive optometry. She also has extensive experience in laser refractive surgery management, providing patients with pre- and post-operative care since 2000. Dr. Pelletier is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists, Association des optometrists du Quebec, College of Optometrists of Ontario, Niagara Society of Optometrists and the Ocular Nutrition Society.
Dr. Kristen Beckers is an optometrist and associate at Peninsula Eye Associates. She received her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Waterloo in 2014 with externship training in Niagara Falls and Florence, Alabama. She is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists and the College of Optometrist of Ontario.
Dr. Beckers has had the privilege of travelling to Peru in South America with VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Services for Humanity). With her fellow colleagues, they were able to perform over 3000 eye examinations and dispense glasses for those who were in need.
Favorite things to do outside of the office: read a great book or go see a concert with friends.
